The Day We Fight Back February 11, 2014

2014-02-11 09_03_59-The Day We Fight Back - February 11th 2014 - Chromium

DEAR USERS OF THE INTERNET,

In January 2012 we defeated the SOPA and PIPA censorship legislation with the largest Internet protest in history. Today we face another critical threat, one that again undermines the Internet and the notion that any of us live in a genuinely free society: mass surveillance.

In celebration of the win against SOPA and PIPA two years ago, and in memory of one of its leaders, Aaron Swartz, we are planning a day of protest against mass surveillance, to take place this February 11th.

Together we will push back against powers that seek to observe, collect, and analyze our every digital action. Together, we will make it clear that such behavior is not compatible with democratic governance. Together, if we persist, we will win this fight.

5:00 pm – Tell Tammy Duckworth Vote NO on Fast Track

2014 at Villa Olivia, 1401 West Lake Street in Bartlett , Illinois

Join Occupy Naperville, Occupy Elgin, NIJwJ, fair trade activists, labor activists, environmentalists, occupiers and the Northern Illinois Light Brigade in picketing the Elgin Township Democrats Eleanor Roosevelt Dinner.

We will be there to challenge Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth to take a stand against Fast Track for the Trans Pacific Partnership. Congresswoman Duckworth is the featured speaker at the dinner. We are picketing Congresswoman Duckworth, to persuade her to publicly announce her opposition to Fast Track. If she does so before Saturday evening, we will turn this picket into a celebration.

This is a critical time as the TPP was introduced into both houses of Congress on January 9th by Senators Max Baucus (D-MT) and Orrin Hatch (R-UT)with a new name: “Bipartisan Trade Agreement” and tries to sneak the fast track into law. The “fast track trade authority” is the first step in the corporate plan to pass the TPP and give Obama sole authority to negotiate the agreement — leaving Congress and the American public out of the loop. We have to stop fast track for the TPP. PLEASE Contact your Congress members now.

There is some hope however as Democrats are not too happy with the TPP. THIS IS WHY IT IS CRITICAL WE STOP IT NOW!

#D23 Illuminate the Fed Chicago – Bring Flashlights!

Orginized by  FedUp100, Illinois Anonymous Legion and The Chicago Anonymous. On December 23 America’s private banking cartel known as the Federal Reserve turns 100 years old and We the People have a simple message: Reform or Retire.
Nowhere in the U.S. Constitution did the Founders bestow authority to print money on a handful of private banks operating in secrecy from Congress and the people. The right to coin money belongs to the U.S. Treasury alone. For a century the Fed – a network of 12 banks that are 100% privately owned – have controlled our money supply by creating and loaning dollars as DEBT which the public has to pay back with interest.
Americans are Fed Up with the Fed which is why on its Centennial we will be illuminating it: shining light on an institution that exercises power in complete darkness. Join the festival of lights in Chicago on #D23 and ILLUMINATE THE FED as coalitions of citizens stage actions at all 12 Federal Reserve Banks nationwide. Bring flashlight!
